Lucknow, Oct 18: Shardendu Tiwari (27), a cloud engineer at Amazon with an annual package of Rs 46 lac, has left his lucrative corporate career to fulfill his childhood dream of joining the Indian Army.

He was recently commissioned as an officer from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya.

Hailing from Lucknow, Tiwari's ambition was deeply inspired by his father, Honorary Captain Raj Kumar Tiwari, who served in the Army Service Corps for 36 years. An alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya and PEC Chandigarh, Tiwari had built a successful tech career and was even selected by the aerospace giant Airbus before choosing to don the uniform.

Despite facing multiple rejections during his initial attempts to secure a commission, he persevered. During his rigorous military training at OTA Gaya, Tiwari's determination and leadership qualities earned him the prestigious appointment of Senior Under Officer.
