Mangaluru, Dec 10: Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), ACTS Yen (Advanced Comprehensive Clinical Training & Simulation Center) has achieved accreditation from ASPiH (Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare) a renowned professional simulation accreditation body in the UK. This milestone marks Acts Yen as the first simulation center in the country to receive this prestigious accreditation which is valid for 3 years. Accreditation from ASPiH signifies that the organization meets specific quality criteria and best practices in the design, delivery and evaluation of simulation based training ensuring excellence in healthcare education. Acts Yen accredited by ASPiH demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety, learner engagement and teaching efficacy.

The accreditation process involved review of the organization’s simulation practices, including faculty expertise, resources, learner feedback mechanisms and alignment of training programmes with educational goals & healthcare needs. ASPiH offers several benefits for individual & organizations involved in simulation based education and practices. The process of obtaining organizational accreditation involves several key steps such as preparation, application submission, assessment, decision and post accreditation.

Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) simulation centre was conceptualised in 2016. ACTS- YEN is a major step towards Yenepoya University’s vision of providing and promoting excellence in clinical care, competency based health professions education, ethical student training and paving the road towards improved patient care, safety and satisfaction. Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) aims at integrating skill development and simulation training into the existing curriculum by using innovative technology.
