Mumbai, Jan 9: Mumbai is preparing for a rise in temperatures as wind patterns shift to a predominantly northerly direction. After a brief cool spell, warmer weather is expected to return in the coming days.
Sunil Kamble, director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Maharashtra, shared, “Today, the minimum temperature was around 17 degrees celsius, but it will steadily increase over the next 48 hours due to this change in wind pattern.” He explained that the recent drop in temperatures was influenced by a western disturbance—a weather system that brings rainfall and snowfall to northern India.
According to Kamble, the minimum temperature in Mumbai is anticipated to reach 19 degrees celsius, while the maximum could rise to 32 degrees celsius within the next two days.
“The city will no longer experience the cool spells seen over the past few days,” he added, signalling the end of the recent drop in temperatures.
