Udupi: One dead as goods truck catches fire after collision

Udupi, Jan 11: In a tragic incident near Balayipade in Udyavar, a goods truck was engulfed in flames following a collision with a scooter late after midnight on Friday. One person died in the accident.

The deceased is identified as Avinash Acharya (19) of Paniyoor. 

The incident occurred around 2 am on Saturday when the truck collided with the scooter, resulting in a fire that completely destroyed the truck. The scooter became lodged under the truck due to the collision.

The fire is suspected to have been triggered by the impact, with the scooter wedged beneath the truck, causing the blaze.

    Fire station is hardly 1.5 km from this spot how come this happened may be poor guy has not paid to them

    19 yr old young boy riding a scooter past midnight...!!!!, sorry to see young life being lost ..., the NH 66 Balaipade curve is a dangerous spot... blank spot... difficult to negotiate & control at high speed.(in fact both side i.e., M'lore to udpi, & Udpi to M'lore it is downwards gravity make it even more difficult to control at high speed), It is a death knell spot., need scientific & engineering solution., Flashing hazard light during night to caution drivers may be a primary solution., Many lives were lost since ages.,
