Udupi, Feb 19: In a compassionate gesture, tahsildar Pratibha R intervened to help a 94-year-old bedridden woman receive her ration despite KYC-related difficulties.
Muthu Poojarthi, a resident of Adve in Palimaru, was unable to obtain her ration due to incomplete KYC verification. Despite attempting to complete the process at the local Gram One center, the issue remained unresolved. Family members approached Ismail Palimaru, the owner of the Gram One center, who then brought the matter to the attention of the tahsildar.

Understanding the elderly woman's plight, the tahsildar instructed food inspector Leelanand to make an exception in the software, allowing her to receive her ration without biometric verification.
Officials have assured that bedridden patients and elderly individuals facing difficulties in visiting ration shops can be exempted from biometric authentication. They encourage affected individuals or their family members to directly bring such cases to their notice for necessary assistance.
