Patna, Mar 15: Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday, accusing him of failing to uphold law and order in the state. He criticized the Bihar Police for weak investigations, which, he claimed, allow criminals to secure bail due to insufficient evidence.
Yadav also took aim at the ruling party leaders for their lack of empathy, alleging that they have not even visited the families of crime victims. "Despite major crimes taking place, those in power are indifferent. Nitish Kumar is solely focused on holding on to the Chief Minister’s chair rather than ensuring good governance," he said.
The tragic death of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Santosh Kumar Singh in Munger has further fueled political tensions, with the Opposition holding CM Nitish Kumar accountable for the state's worsening law and order situation.

ASI Singh succumbed to injuries on Saturday morning after being brutally attacked the previous night in Munger’s Nandlalpur village. The incident unfolded when Singh, along with his DIAL 112 team, responded to reports of a man named Ranveer Kumar causing a disturbance under the influence of alcohol.
Upon arrival, the police team was ambushed by Ranveer, his brother Guddu, and their family members, who attacked them with sharp-edged weapons. ASI Singh sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors referred him to Patna. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds during transit.
Singh, a resident of Mohania block in Kaimur, had been serving at the Mufassil police station for a year. His body was sent to Kaimur after a post-mortem examination in Munger.
Senior officials, including Munger Range DIG, the District Magistrate, and the Superintendent of Police, paid their respects to the fallen officer. He was also honored with a ceremonial guard of honor at the police line.
