Disha Salian case: Lawyer alleges eyewitnesses saw Aaditya Thackeray, others in crime

Mumbai, Mar 21: Explosive allegations have surfaced in the Disha Salian death case, with Nilesh Ojha, the lawyer representing her father, claiming that eyewitnesses saw actors Aditya Pancholi, Dino Morea, and Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray and his bodyguards allegedly gang-raping the late celebrity manager.

Ojha, while reaffirming his faith in Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, expressed distrust in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case. He further questioned the CBI’s delay in filing a chargesheet in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, which is linked to Salian’s death.

Disha, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, allegedly fell from a high-rise in Mumbai on June 8, 2020. Six days later, Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence. While the CBI is investigating Sushant’s case, the Maharashtra government constituted an SIT in 2023 to probe Disha’s death.

Disha’s father has filed a fresh petition in the Bombay High Court, alleging that Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, and Sooraj Pancholi attended a party at Disha’s residence on June 8, 2020. The plea seeks an FIR against Thackeray, who has denied all allegations.

Ojha claimed that Thackeray falsely stated in 2023 that the CBI had cleared him, whereas, according to the advocate, the CBI never investigated the case. The legal team has now sought action against Thackeray for allegedly lying on oath.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the SIT, Ojha remarked, “Junior officers in the SIT cannot take action against senior police officials. The probe is futile.” However, he clarified that Disha’s family trusts PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah to ensure justice.

Thackeray dismissed the allegations, stating, “This has been happening for five years. The matter is in court, and I will respond there.”
