Navi Mumbai, Mar 29: Koparkhairane police on Friday arrested a 25-year-old contract teacher from a Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation school for allegedly sexually assaulting a 20-year-old psychology intern.
The accused, identified as Saurabh Khedkar, had been mentoring the victim as part of her internship training. The incident reportedly occurred on March 7, when he visited her residence while her parents were out of town. The victim’s 11-year-old brother, who was present at home, is a key witness in the case.
Senior Inspector Audumbar Patil confirmed the arrest, stating, “We will record the minor's statement and ensure a chargesheet is filed in court within a week to facilitate a speedy trial and conviction.”
Further investigation is underway.
