New Delhi, Mar 30: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took a veiled dig at the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government over the language row, asserting that the BJP is committed to protecting Hindi along with all Indian languages.
Speaking at a BJP Mahila Morcha event on Saturday, Singh said some forces were unnecessarily fueling Tamil-Hindi disputes and called for unity. “There is no competition but a spirit of cooperation among Indian languages,” he stated, adding that efforts to divide the nation through linguistic rifts must end.

Amid ongoing friction between the Centre and Tamil Nadu over the three-language formula under NEP 2020, Singh also took a swipe at those glorifying Aurangzeb, accusing him of dividing India along religious lines.
Emphasizing women's empowerment, he credited the BJP for ensuring women’s reservations in Parliament and praised PM Narendra Modi’s focus on women-led development. He also paid tribute to Tamil queens Velu Nachiyar and Mangammal for their contributions to India’s history.
