Nityanand Rai slams opposition, calls Bihar’s development ‘Unmissable’

Daijiworld Media Network - Patna

Patna, Mar 31: Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai lashed out at leaders of the Mahagathbandhan for repeatedly claiming that Bihar is not developing, suggesting that they should "get their eyes checked" if they fail to see the progress made under the NDA government.

Addressing the media in Patna, Rai took a direct swipe at RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and leaders of Congress and the Left, accusing them of being blind to reality.

"These leaders claim that Bihar isn’t developing, but they neither see nor hear the people’s voices. I urge them to get their eyesight checked by a good doctor," Rai remarked.

He asserted that Bihar is witnessing unprecedented infrastructure growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

‘Bihar’s Infrastructure Has Transformed’

Rai contrasted the current development with the state’s past under RJD rule, claiming that before 2005, Bihar lacked basic infrastructure.

"Back then, there were no proper roads, and travel was a nightmare. Today, expressways are being built. The Centre has sanctioned the Patna-Arrah-Sasaram four-lane highway worth ?4,000 crore, and many roads have already been constructed," he stated.

He accused the RJD era of leaving Bihar in chaos, with a collapsed education system, no roads, electricity shortages, and poor access to drinking water.

"Law and order were in ruins. Bihar was infamous for Jungle Raj, and migration was at its peak. But today, the scenario has changed completely," Rai claimed.

‘48 Lakh Jobs, Decline in Poverty’

Rai also spoke about employment generation and poverty alleviation, highlighting that 48 lakh jobs are set to be created in Bihar.

"People are finding job opportunities within Bihar itself. Across India, 25 crore people have been lifted out of multidimensional poverty, and lakhs from Bihar have benefited from this transformation," he said.

Election Heat Intensifies

As Bihar gears up for the 2025 Assembly elections, the political battle over development vs. Jungle Raj is intensifying.

The NDA continues to highlight progress in infrastructure, employment, and law enforcement, while the Opposition raises concerns over unemployment and governance failures.

With both sides locked in a war of words, the debate over Bihar’s progress is set to dominate the political landscape in the coming months.
