Raipur, Apr 4: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Chhattisgarh today to assess the progress of anti-Naxal operations and review the prevailing security scenario in the insurgency-hit region.
During his visit, Shah will chair high-level meetings with senior officials from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), state police, and other security agencies actively engaged in counter-Naxal operations. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening inter-agency coordination, enhancing intelligence-sharing frameworks, and addressing logistical challenges faced by forces operating in difficult terrains.

According to official sources, the Home Minister will also interact with top state government officials to discuss ongoing developmental projects aimed at tackling socio-economic issues that contribute to the spread of left-wing extremism. The centre has consistently emphasized a dual approach of forceful intervention and inclusive development to counter Naxal influence.
“This visit by the Home Minister reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicate Naxalism and restore peace in the affected areas,” a senior official remarked.
Chhattisgarh has been a hotbed of Naxal activity, with several violent incidents reported in recent months. Shah’s visit is expected to address lapses in security measures and reinforce strategies to neutralize extremist elements.
Apart from security discussions, Shah is likely to review initiatives aimed at providing better infrastructure, education, and healthcare to communities in Naxal-prone areas, as part of a broader effort to wean away local support for extremist groups.
The Home Minister’s visit is being closely watched as a key step towards intensifying anti-Naxal efforts and boosting the morale of security personnel operating in the region.
