Brahmavar, Apr 6: As an immediate measure to prevent accidents at the Brahmavar black spot at Mahesh hospital junction, the NHAI authority has installed rumble strips.
Rumble strips with white highlighted paint have been installed at Mahesh Hospital junction and near SMS Church, the two major black spots of the town.




Rumble strips or alert strips, are a traffic calming feature designed to alert drowsy or inattentive drivers by creating a tactile vibration and audible rumbling when tyres pass over them. Rumble strips is meant to alert drivers who are drifting out of their lane or approaching a hazard, such as a stop or slowdown.
On Saturday, April 5, the tahsildar along with DySP had conducted a spot inspection. The officials team had gathered information on the major junctions of Brahmavar and the impact of accidents at these points.
These rumble strips are intended to lower the speed of vehicles in the major junctions thus avoiding the accidents. The technical committee formed will submit a feasibility report on April 7 and a district level national highway meeting chaired under the president ship of district commissioner will have a meeting on April 8.
