Katni, April 19: In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, a government school teacher in Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district was suspended after a video surfaced showing him allegedly offering liquor to students.

The video, which went viral on social media on Friday, features the teacher – identified as Lal Naveen Pratap Singh – reportedly serving alcohol to minor boys in cups, instructing one of them to mix it with water before consumption. The incident took place at a government primary school in Khirhani village, located under the Barwara block.

Taking swift action, Katni District Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav directed District Education Officer O P Singh to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the accused teacher. Following identification and confirmation, Singh was immediately suspended under provisions of the MP Civil Services (Conduct) Rules.

Officials stated that Singh has been booked on grounds of serious misconduct, which include promoting underage drinking and violating the ethical standards expected of a teacher.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the district, with concerned parents and education officials calling for stringent measures to ensure the safety and well-being of children in educational institutions. Authorities have assured a thorough inquiry into the matter.
