Kolkata, Apr 20: BJP leader Dilip Ghosh launched a blistering attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday, labelling her as the “most incompetent Chief Minister in the state’s history” and holding her responsible for what he termed as the worst phase in Bengal’s governance.
Backing senior BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty’s call for President’s Rule in the state, Ghosh said the prevailing law and order situation has made military deployment necessary to ensure public safety and fair elections.

“Mamata Banerjee is unable to handle Bengal. Without President’s Rule, lives and property won't be safe. Her preparation to win elections using goons and weapons is extremely dangerous for the state,” Ghosh told, echoing Chakraborty’s earlier remarks demanding army presence for two months during polls.
Ghosh further accused the Chief Minister of habitual blame-shifting and failing to take accountability for governance failures. “She does no work, cannot manage crises, and always blames others. People have now realised she is incapable of even speaking the truth,” he said.
He also alleged that while BJP and RSS workers were risking their lives to support victims of recent unrest, the administration remained absent. “Our workers are out there helping the homeless. Reporters are being stopped from entering affected areas, miscreants roam free, and the police are nowhere. The police are acting on state government orders,” he charged.
The BJP leader concluded by saying that the people of Bengal have lost faith in Mamata’s leadership. “There’s a growing demand for BSF deployment. No one trusts Mamata Banerjee anymore,” he said.
