Agartala, Apr 25: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday strongly condemned the brutal terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive response would serve as a powerful deterrent against future acts of terror.
Speaking to reporters after attending the 70th Foundation Day of the Deed Writers Association at the Agartala court complex, CM Saha underlined the nation’s united support for the Centre’s bold steps in the aftermath of the tragedy.

“Union home minister Amit Shah has already visited the attack site in Pahalgam. Prime Minister Modi has ordered a series of stern actions, including the expulsion of Pakistani nationals residing in India,” the Chief Minister stated.
He highlighted the Centre’s five-point action plan adopted after the April 23 Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting. “The plan is being implemented thoroughly and its impact will be visible soon. The message is clear — those behind such heinous crimes will face severe consequences,” he said.
Declaring that the nation would neither forget nor forgive the attack, CM Saha added, “We will not forget, we will not forgive the cowardly and cruel terror attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam.”
The five-point action plan reportedly includes suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, closure of the Attari-Wagah border, declaring Pakistani military diplomats as persona non grata, severe curtailment of diplomatic missions on both sides, and the expulsion of Pakistani nationals.
On April 22, a group of Pakistani-backed terrorists carried out a horrifying assault on tourists in the scenic Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam. The attack left 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national dead, while several others sustained injuries.
CM Saha reiterated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, national security remains a top priority and any act of terror would be met with an unyielding response.
