New Delhi, Apr 27: The Indian Navy showcased its preparedness to tackle any challenges posed by adversaries on Sunday, successfully conducting an anti-ship missile exercise. The Navy emphasized its combat readiness, asserting that it is equipped to safeguard the country’s maritime interests at any time, anywhere, and in any manner.

The exercise, conducted from Indian Naval ships, was designed to validate the readiness of platforms, systems, and personnel for long-range precision offensive strikes. The Navy confirmed that multiple successful anti-ship missile firings were carried out, further affirming the combat capabilities of its forces.

"Indian Navy Ships undertook successful multiple anti-ship firings to revalidate and demonstrate readiness of platforms, systems, and crew for long-range precision offensive strike. Indian Navy stands combat-ready, credible, and future-ready in safeguarding the nation's maritime interests Anytime Anywhere Anyhow," stated the Indian Navy in a post on its X handle.

This demonstration of readiness follows a series of recent security concerns, including the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. The attack, reportedly backed by Pakistan-based militants, resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a 26-year-old Naval officer. In response, the Indian Navy conducted an important missile test, launching a medium-range surface-to-air missile from the indigenously built guided missile destroyer, INS Surat, in the Arabian Sea.

The missile test, which was completed within 48 hours of the attack, further highlighted India's ability to respond swiftly and decisively to threats. INS Surat successfully hit its target, showcasing the ship’s advanced capabilities, including the ability to intercept and destroy enemy missiles mid-air.

Additionally, tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) remain high, with Pakistan continuing to violate ceasefire agreements. On the night of April 26-27, Pakistani Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the LoC in the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors. Indian forces effectively responded to this unprovoked aggression with small arms fire, maintaining vigilance and readiness to confront any further threats.

The Indian Army, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, remains on high alert, continually reviewing security measures and taking steps to ensure the safety and defense of the region. Similarly, the Indian Navy’s recent actions reaffirm its preparedness to face future challenges.
