Mangaluru, June 2: Legal proceedings have already been initiated to deport 36 individuals from Dakshina Kannada district, including Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, president of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Beltangady, Sangh Parivar leader Bharat Kumdelu and BJP leader Arun Kumar Puthila for their alleged involvement in activities that threaten public peace and safety.
According to a press release issued by the police department, formal proposals have been submitted to initiate the externment process.

The following are the individuals, who are residents of various police station jurisdictions across the district facing exile:
From Bantwal town police station: Husainar (46), Mohammad Safaan (26), Raju alias Rajesh (35), and Bhuvi alias Bhuvith Shetty (35).
From Bantwal rural: Pavan Kumar (33), Charan alias Charan Raj (28), Abdul Latheef (40), Mohammad Ashraf (44), Moydhin Afghan alias Addu (24), and Bharat Raj B alias Bharat Kumelu (38).
From Vittal police station: Ganesh alias Ganesh Poojary (35), Abdul Khader alias Saukath (34), and Chandrhas (23).
From Beltangady: Manoj Kumar (37) and Mahesh Shetty Timarodi (53).
From Puttur town: Hakeem Koornadka alias Abdul Hakeem (38), Ajith Rai (39), Arun Kumar Puthila (54), Manish S (34), Abdul Rahiman (38), and K Azeez (48).
From Puttur rural: Kishore (34), Rakesh K (30), and Nishanth Kumar (22).
From Kadaba police station: Mohammad Nawaz (32).
From Uppinangady: Santosh Kumar Rai alias Santu Adekkal (35), Jayaram (25), Shamsuddin (36), Sandeep (24), Mohammad Shakir (35), and Abdul Azeez alias Karaya Azeez (36).
From Sullia: Lathesh Gundy (32) and Manohar alias Manu (40).
From Bellare police station: Prasad (35) and Shameer K (38).
The police have stated that these individuals are being considered for externment as a preventive measure to maintain law and order and curb potential anti-social activities. The legal procedure for externment will proceed as per relevant provisions of the law.
The move is part of a broader effort by district law enforcement to ensure public peace and deter habitual offenders across sensitive regions of Dakshina Kannada.
