Mau, Nov 22: In a tragic accident in Haldharpur police station area of Mau district, 21-year-old Shekhar Singh lost his life after a speeding car went out of control and fell into the Ratnapura-Khohiyapur nala bridge late Thursday night around 12:30 am.

The deceased, Shekhar Singh, was a resident of Nagwa village in Ratnapura block. According to reports, he was returning home after dropping some people at Siddhivinayak Marriage Hall in Ratnapura for a wedding function. The accident occurred during his return trip.

Local residents said the car was moving at a high speed. After hitting the bridge, the vehicle bounced into the nala, leading to Shekhar Singh’s instant death. He was the only son of his parents.

Haldharpur police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem, while further investigation is underway. Local resident Buddhiraj said he came to know about the accident the next morning.
