Seoul, Jun 24: With Samsung officially locking the date for its much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, tech enthusiasts have been treated to an early glimpse of what may be the next evolution in the Galaxy Watch series. Reliable tech tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) has leaked fresh renders of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series, revealing significant design overhauls across three new models.
All three upcoming variants — Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the high-end Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) — appear to embrace a squircle-shaped dial (a blend of square and circle), a design language first introduced in the Galaxy Watch Ultra lineup in 2024. The circular display now sits snug within a square casing, lending a futuristic yet familiar aesthetic.
The standard Galaxy Watch 8 seems to retain a simplistic look with flush glass over the display, a speaker grille on the left, and two physical buttons on the right. Apart from the new squircle silhouette, no drastic hardware changes are visible in the render, suggesting that Samsung may be refining internals and performance under the hood.
After skipping a year, the Classic variant is reportedly making a comeback — and with style. The Classic model adopts the squircle form while proudly retaining the signature rotating bezel, offering the tactile experience fans have long associated with Galaxy Watches.
A notable addition is a third Quick Button, outlined in orange, possibly allowing users to assign shortcuts for fitness tracking, emergency siren, or outdoor activity modes — features introduced in the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024).
The final and most premium entry is the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). While the name isn't officially confirmed, the leaked render reveals a continuation of the rugged DNA of its predecessor, including a fixed bezel in bold blue and orange accents. Built likely for adventurers and athletes, the Ultra model is expected to pack advanced health sensors and enhanced outdoor durability.
Samsung is expected to unveil this powerful trio at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in July. Alongside these wearables, flagship devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 may also debut, promising an exciting mid-year launch lineup.
As the smartwatch market heats up, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 Series seems ready to make bold strides in design and functionality, blending elegance with versatility for users across all walks of life.
