‘Fake News’: White House denies latest Trump-Epstein link

Washington, Jul 24: The White House on Wednesday dismissed a fresh report linking President Donald Trump to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, calling it “fake news”.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Attorney General Pam Bondi had informed Trump in May that his name appeared several times in case files related to Epstein. The White House responded by saying the files had already been reviewed and released, and there was no evidence of wrongdoing.

“This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by Democrats and the liberal media,” said White House communications director Steven Cheung, adding that Trump had “long ago” cut ties with Epstein and had “kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

Trump, who returned to the White House in January, had earlier promised to release all Epstein-related files. But on July 7, Bondi announced that there was “nothing to release”, angering many of Trump’s supporters.

The report also mentioned a 2003 letter allegedly written by Trump to Epstein, which the President denies. Trump has sued the publication.

Epstein, who was once known for his connections with powerful individuals including Trump, died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking underage girls.
