Jamshedpur, Aug 2: Jharkhand education minister Ramdas Soren, who suffered a serious brain injury after slipping in the bathroom at his residence on Saturday, was airlifted to Delhi for advanced medical treatment.
Health Minister Irfan Ansari said Soren was initially admitted to a Jamshedpur hospital, where doctors detected a blood clot in his brain. "His health suddenly deteriorated. The fall led to a severe brain injury," Ansari informed, adding that he is in constant touch with the family and monitoring the minister’s condition closely.
Former Union minister and senior BJP leader Arjun Munda, who was present at Sonari airport during the airlift, told reporters that the minister had suffered a brain haemorrhage caused by a sudden spike in pressure. “His condition is critical, but we are hopeful he will recover,” Munda said.
He also confirmed speaking with the director of Delhi’s Apollo Hospital, who assured immediate medical attention upon the minister's arrival.
