Srinivas University, Institute of Aviation Studies organises chess tournament 2025

Mangaluru, Aug 6: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, successfully conducted a two-days chess tournament 2025 on July 31 and August 1. A total of 117 students are participated from BBA aviation management, aviation & logistics management, aviation travel & tourism management, and MBA aviation management. The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, Anjana T V, head of the department and event coordinator, along with the cooperation of all faculty and staff members of the Institute.

The tournament featured both intra-class and inter-class competitions. In the intra-class chess tournament, winners were announced in each category. From I BBA aviation management, Joyal Binu secured the first place followed by Chirag M J in second place. In I BBA aviation & logistics management, Sanjay took the top position while Ashwin Kumar came second. II BBA aviation management Pradeep Kumar secured the firsts place, with Shravan D Suvarna second place. In II BBA aviation & logistics management, Manan N secured the first position, followed by Yashwin Saroli second place. From III BBA aviation management, Hrithik B Rai and Abzal Arfaz secured firsts and second places respectively. In the post-graduate category, Numair Abdul Jabbar from I MBA aviation management was declared the winner.

In the inter-class chess tournament, Pradeep Kumar from II BBA aviation management claimed the first place, followed by Joyal Binu from I BBA aviation management in second place and Ashwin Kumar from I BBA aviation & logistics management securing third place. The tournament concluded on a high note, celebrating strategy, patience, and sportsmanship among students, and reinforcing the importance of extracurricular engagement in holistic student development.
