Mangaluru, Aug 6: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organized an elocution competition on July 31 on the thought-provoking theme ‘Ragging: A crime, not a tradition.’ The event aimed to raise awareness against ragging while enhancing students' public speaking abilities, confidence, and communication skills.
A total of 134 students from BBA aviation management, aviation & logistics management, aviation, travel & tourism management, and MBA aviation management participated enthusiastically in the competition. The event was conducted under the leadership and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean of the institute, Anjana T V, head of department and event coordinator, along with the other faculties.





To encourage inclusivity and cultural representation, the competition was conducted in five language categories English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tulu. Participants were judged separately in each language to maintain fairness and recognize linguistic diversity. In the English category, Samna from I BBA aviation management secured the first place, while Hamdhan Abusali from I BBA aviation & logistics management bagged the second place.
In the Hindi category, Anjali from III BBA aviation management secured the first place, followed by Rohan Thors from I BBA aviation & logistics management in second place. In Kannada category Adithya B G from I BBA aviation management secured the first place, with Rakshit from I BBA aviation & logistics management secured the second place.
In the Malayalam category, Anandhakrishnan from II BBA aviation & logistics management claimed the first position, and Gowrinandhana, from II BBA aviation & logistics management, came in second. Finally, in the Tulu category, Nayana from II BBA aviation management secured the first place, while Suraksha, from the II BBA aviation management, achieved the second place.
All winners were appreciated for their powerful delivery, clarity of thought, and strong anti-ragging messages in their speeches.
