Berlin, Aug 20: Activision has officially unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, confirming its worldwide release on November 14. The upcoming title promises a new era for the blockbuster franchise with a four-player co-op campaign, expanded multiplayer features, and the much-loved Zombies mode making a powerful return.
Black Ops 7 is set in the year 2035, continuing the storyline of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. The feared antagonist Raul Menendez re-emerges with a global threat, while returning protagonist David “Section” Mason now leads an elite JSOC team to counter the menace.
The campaign will feature a mix of stealth operations, intense combat, and surreal subconscious missions. A brand-new Endgame mode, designed as a replayable climax in the open-world city of Avalon, will test players against overwhelming odds, using their personalised gear and progression.
Black Ops 7 will launch with 16 multiplayer maps for 6v6 battles — 13 all-new arenas and three classics from Black Ops 2. A fresh Overclock system will power up weapons and gadgets with use.
The title also introduces a large-scale 20v20 Skirmish mode, bringing vehicles, grappling hooks, wingsuits, and multiple objectives into play. The omnimovement system, introduced in Black Ops 6, will return, offering smoother mobility with wall-jumps and advanced movement options.
The franchise’s most iconic mode — Zombies — returns with new survival maps, vehicle gameplay, and the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline. Fans will also see the comeback of the chaotic Dead Ops Arcade 4, offering top-down arcade action filled with relentless hordes and traps.
Players will get an early experience during the open beta from Oct 5–8, while those who pre-order can access it from Oct 2.
The game will release across PC (Steam, Battle.net, Xbox app), PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. Importantly, Black Ops 7 will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass, with editions including Standard, Cross-Gen Bundle, and Vault Edition.
Activision has also scheduled Call of Duty: Next on Sept 30, where creators will showcase extensive multiplayer and Zombies gameplay.
