CBI arrests AAI senior manager in Rs 232 crore fraud case

New Delhi, Sep 2: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Rahul Vijay, Senior Manager of Airports Authority of India (AAI), for allegedly siphoning off Rs 232 crore of public funds.

 

According to officials, the fraud took place during his posting at Dehradun Airport between 2019 and 2023. He is accused of manipulating electronic records, creating fictitious assets, duplicating bills, and inflating contract amounts by adding extra zeros. In one instance, he allegedly swindled Rs 189 crore in a single entry.

CBI teams recently carried out searches at Vijay’s residence and office in Jaipur, seizing property documents, securities, and other incriminating materials.

 

The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to trace the money trail.
