Hyderabad, Sep 11: In a shocking crime within a gated community in Cyberabad, a 50-year-old woman, Renu Agarwal, was tied up, beaten with a pressure cooker, and had her throat slit before two domestic workers looted her home and fled. The assailants even took a shower and changed clothes inside the house, leaving behind blood-stained garments.

The incident occurred at Swan Lake Apartment, where Ms. Agarwal lived with her husband and son. On Wednesday, around 10 a.m., her husband and son left for work, returning at 5 p.m. after failing to reach her. They discovered her body after entering through the balcony with the help of a plumber and immediately alerted the police.

Preliminary investigation suggests the prime suspects are two men employed as domestic workers — one with the Agarwal family and another at a neighbouring apartment. CCTV footage shows them entering the 13th floor and leaving at 5:02 p.m. The suspects, identified as Harsha and Roushan, are believed to have fled towards Ranchi on a two-wheeler belonging to Roushan’s employer.

The men reportedly stole nearly 40 grams of gold and Rs 1 lakh in cash. The Kukatpally Police have registered a murder case and are gathering CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and witness statements as part of the investigation.
