Lucknow, Sep 11: Five people were killed and more than ten injured when a state roadways bus overturned in the Kakori area of Lucknow on Thursday, police said.
The bus, travelling from Hardoi, reportedly collided with a water tanker before plunging into a 20-foot-deep ditch after the driver lost control. Road construction was underway and water was being sprinkled on the stretch at the time, according to locals.

Police Commissioner Amrendra Singh Sengar confirmed the casualties, adding that rescue teams with local help pulled injured passengers from the wreckage and shifted them to the Kakori community health centre. The rescue operation is ongoing.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences, directing officials to ensure immediate medical care for the injured and wished them a speedy recovery, an official statement said.
