Greater Noida, Sep 14: A 37-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son were found dead after jumping from their 13th-floor apartment in Ace City, Greater Noida, yesterday.
The victims have been identified as Sakshi Chawla and her son Daksh. The family lived with Sakshi’s husband, Darpan Chawla, a chartered accountant. Police said Daksh had been undergoing treatment for mental health issues for over a decade, which caused prolonged stress for Sakshi.

Darpan Chawla was reportedly in another room when he heard a scream and rushed to the balcony, only to find his wife and son on the ground. Police recovered a suicide note in which Sakshi apologized to her husband, writing, “We are leaving this world… Sorry. We do not want to trouble you anymore. Your life should not be ruined because of us. No one is responsible for our death.”
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shakti Avasthy said the tragedy had deeply shaken neighbours. He added, “A police team found a suicide note and learnt that the son was unwell for some time. We are taking necessary steps.” A detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
