Dehradun, Sep 23: In a shocking incident, the body of a 21-year-old woman, identified as Vishakha of Prem Nagar, was found stuffed in a plastic bag in a tea garden in Vasant Vihar, Dehradun, on Monday, police said.
Officials stated that the body bore no major external injuries and has been sent for post-mortem examination. Superintendent of Police (City) Pramod Kumar said prima facie it appears to be a case of murder, and all angles are being probed. “The matter is sensitive, so we cannot reveal much at this time,” he added. Police are questioning the woman’s family members as part of the investigation.

Earlier on Monday, Kanpur Police solved the disappearance of a 20-year-old woman. Suraj Kumar Uttam (20) from Fatehpur allegedly strangled his girlfriend Akanksha, also known as Mahi, during an argument on July 21. After the killing, he reportedly took a selfie with the body and sought help from his friend Ashish Kumar (21) of Jafrabad. The two stuffed the body in a suitcase and disposed of it in the Yamuna River from Chilla Bridge.
Investigators said Suraj’s second girlfriend had pressured him to end his first relationship, which allegedly led to the murder. To mislead authorities, Suraj left Akanksha’s mobile phone on a train at Kanpur Central station, creating false location trails.
