New Delhi, Sep 24: The director of a reputed ashram in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati (alias Parth Sarathy), is facing police action after over a dozen students accused him of sexual harassment, officials said.

The allegations involve at least 17 female post-graduate management diploma students from the economically weaker sections (EWS) category. Victims claimed the accused used abusive language, sent lewd messages, and made unwanted physical advances.

Some wardens and staff reportedly pressured students to comply with his demands.

Police have filed a case for sexual harassment and other charges, and raids have been conducted at the ashram and the accused’s residence. CCTV footage is under review. Swami Chaitanyananda remains at large, last seen near Agra, with multiple police teams searching for him. Authorities also seized a Volvo car from the institute’s basement that bore a forged diplomatic number plate (39 UN 1).

Following the allegations, the ashram removed and expelled him. The Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetha, Sringeri, which runs the Delhi branch, condemned his conduct as illegal and inappropriate and severed all ties with him.

The Delhi institute operates in two batches, each comprising over 35 students.
