Bunts’ Sangha Ahmedabad to celebrate 32nd Annual Day on Nov 2

Ahmedabad, Oct 29: The Bunts’ Sangha Ahmedabad (Regd), Gujarat, one of the most active associations representing the Bunt community in the state, will celebrate its 32nd Annual Day with grandeur on Sunday, November 2. The event will be held at Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium, Tower Building, Ahmedabad University, symbolizing the unity and cultural pride of the Bunt community in Gujarat’s heritage city, Ahmedabad — often called the ‘Boston of India’ and ‘Manchester of India’.

The grand celebration will be presided over by the association’s president, Nitesh S Shetty (Shirva Kodu). Praveen Bhoja Shetty, president of Bunts’ Sangha Mumbai, will be the chief guest, while Dr R K Shetty, general secretary of Bunts’ Sangha Mumbai, will attend as the special guest. The guest list also includes Shashidhar B Shetty (Guruvayanakere), president of Tulu Sangha Baroda; Radhakrishna T Shetty, president of Karnataka Samaja Surat and managing director of Radhakrishna Group of Hotels; Shankar Shetty, president of Tulu Sangha Ankleshwar; and Naveen Shetty, president of Tulunad Aisiri.

The programme will feature cultural performances by members, women, and children of the Sangha. Renowned playback singer, music composer, and lyricist Nishan Rai, who won the Best Music Director Award for the film Dharma Daiva, will deliver a special musical performance. The event will be compered by Naveen Kumar Shetty Edmemar, a well-known TV and international programme host, as announced in a press release by general secretary Kiran Shetty, treasurer Prashanth Naak, and other office-bearers.

Under the leadership of president Nitesh S Shetty, the present office-bearers of Bunts’ Sangha Ahmedabad include Shakunthala I Shetty (vice president), Kiran Shetty (general secretary), Prashanth Naak (treasurer), Santosh Shetty (joint secretary), Deviprasad D Shetty (joint treasurer), and Praveen Shetty (organizing secretary). Executive members are Suresh N Shetty, Vasanth Kumar Shetty, Appu A Shetty, Sudarshan D Shetty, Prashanth S Shetty, Ashok L Shetty, Prakash B Shetty, Saroja S Shetty, Suhas B Shetty, Dinesh Shetty, Suresh Shetty, Vivek Shetty, Jagannath Shetty, Manoj Shetty, and Ravindra Shetty. Special invitee members include Purushotham Shetty, Ashish Shetty, and Harish Shetty.

Former presidents Ajekaru Sanjeeva Shetty, Devadatta Shetty, Sudhakar S Shetty, and Appu P Shetty continue to provide valuable guidance, while the association fondly remembers late presidents Jayaram P Shetty and Narayan Rai for their dedicated service and contributions.

Based in Ahmedabad — known as Gujarat’s cultural and heritage capital and a major smart city — the Bunts’ Sangha Ahmedabad has made significant strides in social, cultural, educational, religious, and sports activities while promoting Tulu culture and unity among Bunts across India. The association has also launched an environmental initiative named ‘Nisarga’, aimed at promoting eco-friendly and people-oriented activities, said president Nitesh S Shetty.
