Patna, Nov 4: Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing him of presiding over a series of corruption scandals during his tenure and urging voters in Darbhanga to prevent what he called the return of “jungle raj” in Bihar.
Addressing a public rally in the Jale Assembly constituency, Shah listed a string of alleged scams, saying, “Lalu Prasad has committed the fodder scam, land-for-jobs scam, hotel scam, bitumen scam, flood relief scam, recruitment scam, and the AB Export scam. Lalu and Rabri committed so many scams, while the Congress party’s scams totalled Rs 12 lakh crore. Can these people ever do any good for Bihar?”
He contrasted this with the records of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that neither leader has faced corruption charges during their long tenures.

Shah also accused the RJD–Congress alliance of neglecting Darbhanga’s development, highlighting that it was the Modi government that approved an AIIMS in Darbhanga, which would serve people from Mithila, Kosi, and even nearby areas of Bengal.
Turning his attack toward Rahul Gandhi, Shah labelled the Congress leader’s recent Bihar tour a “Save the Infiltrators Yatra.”
“Lalu and Rahul want to protect infiltrators. No matter how many yatras they take out, we will identify and remove infiltrators from the country,” he declared.
The Home Minister also referred to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, recalling that PM Modi, from the land of Madhubani, had vowed retaliation — and within 20 days, the government carried out Operation Sindoor inside Pakistan to eliminate the perpetrators.
He announced that the Centre would establish a defence corridor in Bihar, similar to the one in Tamil Nadu.
“Our enemies will think twice before launching another Pahalgam-like attack. If they do, we’ll answer their bullets with bombs made right here in Bihar’s defence production units,” he said.
Shah further praised the Modi and Nitish governments for empowering women’s self-help groups (SHGs) under the Jeevika scheme, claiming Rs 10,000 had been deposited in the accounts of 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis.
“Lalu’s party says this money should be taken back. Even if three generations of their family come together, they won’t be able to take back a single rupee. Re-elect the NDA, and we will deposit Rs 2 lakh more over the next five years,” he asserted.
Concluding his speech, Shah urged voters to “stop the return of jungle raj” by supporting the NDA in the upcoming election.
“This jungle raj is trying to sneak back in another form. Your job is to stop it by pressing the lotus button. On November 6, vote for the NDA and ensure victory for all our candidates,” he told the gathering.
