Hyderabad, Nov 6: In a fiery political exchange, BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday threw a direct challenge at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, daring him to arrest him in connection with the alleged Formula E race corruption case.
Responding to the CM’s remarks suggesting a “secret pact” between the BRS and BJP, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of “ignorance” and clarified that the Governor had already granted permission to prosecute him.

“The government sought the Governor’s consent to prosecute me. The Governor granted that permission and a charge sheet was filed. Yet, the authorities have failed to move forward. Once a charge sheet is filed, there’s no need for further permission,” KTR stated, dismissing the case as “politically motivated” and lacking credible evidence.
Taking his attack further, KTR challenged Revanth Reddy to a lie detector test. “If you are a man, come and let’s undergo lie detector tests live on camera. The ACB inquiries pending against both of us will show who’s telling the truth,” he said while releasing the BRS progress report for the Jubilee Hills segment.
It may be recalled that Revanth Reddy had alleged a delay of two months in seeking the Governor’s approval for prosecution in the case related to alleged contracts awarded in exchange for electoral bonds worth Rs 50 crore during the Formula E Race.
Countering the CM’s claim of a BRS-BJP nexus, KTR alleged instead that the Congress and BJP share a “strong bond.” He pointed out, “When Rahul Gandhi was opposing the ED and CBI, Revanth Reddy’s government sought a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project. His government was the first in the country to implement the Waqf Amendment Act of the NDA.”
Highlighting the developmental works undertaken by the previous BRS government, KTR said that Rs 5,328 crore was spent between 2014 and 2023 on various sectors in Jubilee Hills, benefiting over 2.12 lakh residents.
Taking a swipe at the CM’s recent remark on Muslims, KTR added, “Muslims existed even before the Congress was founded and will continue to exist even without the Congress.”
The war of words between the two leaders has once again intensified the political heat ahead of Telangana’s upcoming electoral season.
