Rajnath Singh attacks RJD-Congress over corruption at Bihar poll rally

Daijiworld Media Network - Patna

Patna, Nov 9: Union defence minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan, accusing them of involvement in multiple scams and criticising their “unabashed and unrestrained” campaigning ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.

Addressing a mega rally in Goh, Aurangabad, Singh highlighted alleged corruption among opposition leaders, noting that many have faced legal action and spent time in jail, yet continue to freely contest elections. He indirectly referred to Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, both accused in scams and currently out on bail.

“Our alliance believes that anyone accused of corruption should immediately resign,” he said, citing L.K. Advani as an example and lamenting the erosion of ethics in contemporary politics.

Singh questioned the opposition’s leadership, asking, “Is there no other leader under whose guidance this alliance can contest elections?” He described the NDA not just as a political alliance, but as a coalition with noble intentions, adding that the NDA manifesto is a pledge that has been fulfilled, unlike opposition promises.

He warned voters that the upcoming election would determine whether Bihar faces “jungle raj” or a path to development, stating, “We have to make Bihar a developed Bihar. If Bihar develops, India develops too.”

Taking a jibe at Tejashwi Yadav’s promise to provide employment to every household, Singh questioned its feasibility, saying the NDA aims to achieve growth by expanding industries in the state. He contrasted campaign messages, claiming NDA leaders invite citizens to a “developed Bihar,” while opposition members allegedly use fear-based rhetoric.

Singh also highlighted ongoing developmental projects, including the construction of a grand Janki Maiya temple in Sitamarhi, showcasing the NDA’s focus on both infrastructure and cultural initiatives.
