Nitish Kumar thanks PM Modi and voters as NDA cruises to historic Bihar victory

Patna, Nov 14: Bihar chief minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of Bihar following the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) commanding performance in the 2025 Assembly elections.

With trends showing the NDA surpassing the 200-seat mark in the 243-member Assembly, Kumar said the results reflected the people’s renewed faith in the NDA government. “In the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025, the people of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a massive majority. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state and express my heartfelt gratitude,” he stated.

Kumar also thanked Prime Minister Modi for his guidance and support during the campaign. “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for the support received from him, while bowing to him,” he added.

The Chief Minister credited the victory to the cohesion and coordination within the NDA, acknowledging alliance partners including Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha. “The NDA alliance has achieved a massive majority in this election by demonstrating complete unity. With the support of all of you, Bihar will progress even further and move towards becoming one of the most developed states in the country,” he said.

The JD(U), contesting alongside the BJP and regional allies HAMS, RLM, and LJP(R), has secured 48 seats and is leading in 36 others, bringing its total to 84 seats. Meanwhile, the Opposition Mahagathbandhan is struggling, managing only around 35 seats, marking one of its weakest performances to date.
