New Delhi, Nov 23: Delhi Police have unearthed a major international arms smuggling network, seizing foreign-made automatic weapons and ammunition, and arresting four suspects linked to the trafficking racket.
According to police sources, the recovered weapons were manufactured in China and Turkey and were being smuggled into India through Pakistan. Investigators believe the smuggling ring had direct links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, and that the network was being operated under its guidance. These weapons were supplied to Delhi and neighbouring states, officials confirmed.

Sources revealed that Pakistani handlers used drones to transport the foreign weapons across the border into India. A large cache is suspected to have entered Punjab through the India–Pakistan border using this method.
Investigators further suspect that the arms were meant for major criminal gangs, including the Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, Gogi and Himanshu Bhau gangs. This has raised concerns of a possible major gang war being planned in Delhi and adjoining regions.
Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch received information that several individuals were arriving in the capital to deliver weapons. Police laid a trap in Rohini, where they intercepted the suspects and recovered Chinese and Turkish-made pistols along with ammunition. The arrested individuals are residents of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Kumar Yadav confirmed that the weapons were smuggled into India using drones launched from Pakistan. The seized cache includes 10 foreign-made pistols and 92 rounds of ammunition, including Turkish-made PX 5.7 pistols and Chinese-made PX 3 pistols.
Police say a deeper investigation is underway to trace the full network and its links to cross-border handlers.
