Melania Trump welcomes official White House Christmas tree

Washington, Nov 25: US First Lady Melania Trump on Monday welcomed the official White House Christmas tree, a majestic white fir from Korson’s Tree Farms in Michigan, as it arrived in traditional style on a horse-drawn carriage.

The 18.5-foot tree reached the North Portico pulled by two impressive Clydesdales, Logan and Ben, guided by a carriage driver dressed in a classic top hat.

“It’s a beautiful tree,” Melania remarked as she walked around the carriage, pausing for photographs. Dressed in a cream overcoat and deep red gloves, she greeted the carriage drivers and the handlers accompanying the horses.

The tree, chosen after Korson’s Tree Farms won the National Christmas Tree Association’s annual contest, will be displayed in the Blue Room. Since 1966, winners of this national contest have earned the honor of providing the official Christmas tree for the White House.
