Beed, Nov 29: At a memorial programme held in Massajog village on the first death anniversary of murdered Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, NCP MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar made a strong statement, declaring that he will “not rest until accused Valmik Karad is hanged.” He also questioned whether absconding accused Krishna Aandhale is “alive or not,” heightening the urgency around the ongoing probe.
The event saw the presence of several prominent leaders, including Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil, MP Bajrang Sonawane, and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve, alongside local public representatives and villagers who gathered to pay tribute to the late sarpanch.

Speaking at the event, MLA Kshirsagar said, “I will not sit quiet until Valmik Karad gets the death penalty. From the beginning, we have demanded that Karad’s CDR (call detail record) be extracted. Once that is done, it will expose who all supported him. The Deshmukh family is in tears, and the entire region stands with them.” He reiterated that he has been supporting the victim’s family since the incident shook the district.
Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh of Massajog in Kej taluk was kidnapped and brutally murdered, triggering statewide outrage. Since the crime, all accused had initially gone absconding. While mastermind Valmik Karad surrendered in Pune, allowing police to arrest other accused from there, key suspect Krishna Aandhale remains untraceable. Rumours have circulated about him being spotted in Nashik and Pune, but police have yet to apprehend him. His continued evasion has been viewed as a direct challenge to the police machinery.
Graphic videos and photographs from the crime scene had shocked Maharashtra, with citizens demanding swift action. Except for Aandhale, all other accused have been arrested. Police teams are continuing efforts to nab the fugitive, who is suspected to have played a crucial role in the crime.
Political leaders stressed that the truth must come out and justice must be delivered to the bereaved family. The upcoming chargesheet, scheduled to be filed on December 12, is expected to play a key role in moving the investigation forward.
Efforts from community members, public representatives, and law enforcement continue, with hopes that the case will soon reach a decisive conclusion and that all those involved will be brought before the law.
