Tej Pratap Yadav alleges death threat, seeks security

Daijiworld Media Network - Patna

Patna, Dec 27: Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) chief and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has filed a police complaint alleging that the party’s expelled national spokesperson Santosh Renu Yadav has threatened to kill him. He has also written to Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary seeking enhanced security.

Confirming receipt of the letter, Choudhary said the matter is under examination. Sachivalay police station SHO Gautam Kumar said an FIR has been registered based on Yadav’s complaint and investigations are underway.

In his complaint, Tej Pratap alleged that Renu, after being appointed JJD national spokesperson, began working against the party’s ideology and was expelled on December 14 for allegedly taking money from party workers and others by promising jobs and favours. He further claimed that after the expulsion, Renu started abusing him and issuing death threats on social media.

Despite repeated attempts, Santosh Renu Yadav could not be contacted for his response.

Tej Pratap, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, was expelled from the RJD for six years in May this year over what the party termed “irresponsible behaviour.” He had later alleged a conspiracy to create a rift between him and his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav.
