Imphal, Jan 16: Security forces in Manipur have arrested another suspect in connection with the bomb explosion at a fuel station in Bishnupur district last week, police said on Friday.
The 41-year-old accused was apprehended on Thursday from the Lamphel Sana Keithel area in Imphal West district. Authorities recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition from him, including one SMG carbine with four loaded magazines, a 9 mm pistol, two 36 HE hand grenades, and two detonators, a senior police officer stated.

Earlier, a 35-year-old member of the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) had been arrested from Komnao Makha Leikai in Kakching district in connection with the same incident.
“The person arrested on January 15 was an accomplice of the main accused in the bomb blast,” the officer added.
The explosion occurred on the evening of January 8 at the Elidas fuel station in Moirang Thana Leikai, leading to a three-day closure of all fuel stations across the valley areas in the state.
Authorities continue investigations into the incident to track down any further suspects and prevent future attacks.
