New Delhi, Jan 18: An 18-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death in broad daylight at a public park in northwest Delhi’s Rohini on Thursday after being lured there through a fake social media account, police said. Five juveniles, including the 17-year-old brother of a girl the victim was reportedly in a relationship with, have been apprehended in connection with the murder.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Gupta, the incident took place at a park in the Rohini area around 3 pm. Prashant Vihar police station received a PCR call reporting a stabbing, following which a police team rushed to the spot and found the victim lying injured and bleeding heavily.

Police said the victim’s friends informed them that he had been attacked by a group of boys and had collapsed unconscious. He was immediately taken to BSA Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in a relationship with a girl, which her brother strongly opposed. Police said the minor brother allegedly used a friend’s social media account under a fake identity to stay in touch with the victim and later lured him to the park on the pretext of meeting.
“On the day of the incident, the accused arrived at the park along with his associates and attacked the victim with a knife, leading to his death,” DCP Gupta said.
Police have recovered the knife used in the crime along with the victim’s mobile phone, wristwatch and a metallic kada. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the roles of all those involved.
