Speeding car hits labourers in Jabalpur, 2 dead and 11 injured

Bhopal, Jan 18: Two labourers were killed and 11 others injured when a speeding car rammed into them in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred around 2 pm near Ekta Chowk, outside Sigma Colony, in the jurisdiction of Barela police station. The victims were on a lunch break while installing road divider railings when the car struck them, officials reported.

Additional Superintendent of Police Pallavi Shukla said the driver fled the scene, and a search is underway to apprehend him. “The deceased and injured, admitted to Jabalpur Medical College, are from Mandla district. One of the injured is in critical condition,” Shukla added.

Police noted that the car involved had no registration plate, and a thorough investigation is ongoing.
