US, Jan 23: A massive winter storm is set to sweep across the United States starting tomorrow, stretching over 2,000 miles from the Arizona-New Mexico border all the way to upstate New York. Major metropolitan areas from Dallas to New York City lie directly in the storm’s projected path.
At least a dozen states have already declared states of emergency in anticipation of the severe weather. The storm is expected to begin in Texas and Oklahoma, bringing dangerous conditions after sunset. By Saturday, wintry precipitation will extend from central New Mexico into central Virginia. Heavy snow is forecast to move into the Northeast, including New York City and Boston, on Sunday, while parts of the mid-Atlantic may experience continued icing. The storm is expected to subside by Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued alerts for snow, sleet, and freezing rain affecting approximately 132 million people. In the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region, wind chills could reach 40 to 50 degrees below zero. Meanwhile, in Texas and other Gulf Coast states, temperatures could feel as low as single digits to minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
Authorities have urged residents to take precautions, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay updated with local weather advisories as the storm moves across the country.
