Mumbai, Feb 4: An Air India flight operating from Mumbai to Coimbatore on February 3 was delayed after the aircraft scheduled for the service was involved in a minor ground incident while taxiing before take-off.
Air India said the wingtips of two aircraft made contact, resulting in damage to its wingtip. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft was immediately grounded for technical checks and detailed engineering inspections.

The incident reportedly occurred while the Air India aircraft was waiting on the taxiway, when its wingtip brushed against an IndiGo aircraft.
Following the contact, passengers were safely disembarked and alternate travel arrangements were initiated to ensure they could reach Coimbatore at the earliest possible time.
The airline confirmed that no injuries were reported and termed it a minor ground collision.
Air India said the incident has been reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in line with standard operating procedures.
Expressing regret for the inconvenience caused, the airline reiterated that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority, adding that the aircraft will be cleared for service only after completion of all necessary technical checks.
