Srinagar, Feb 21: In a decisive move against terror support networks, the Budgam Police in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday confiscated the immovable property of a local resident currently operating from Pakistan. Authorities have categorized such individuals under a new term: “Jammu and Kashmir Nationals Operating from Pakistan” (JKNOP).
According to a police statement, “As part of a robust crackdown on terror operatives and their infrastructure, Budgam Police attached property of a JKNOP at Khag Police Station and filed an FIR under Sections 7/25, 18, 20, and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).”
The seized property belongs to Ghulam Nabi Najar, son of the late Abdul Jabbar, from Gamgulla village in Budgam. The estate includes one Kanal and 16 Marlas of prime land registered under Khasra No. 796, Khewat No. 144, and Khata No. 439 in Gamgulla.
The attachment was carried out under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) following all legal procedures, highlighting a significant intensification in actions against terror-affiliated elements in Budgam.
“The operation sends a clear warning: those engaged in anti-national activities will not only face criminal charges but also risk losing assets that support such networks,” the statement emphasized.
Budgam Police stressed that the crackdown targets both the financial and logistical bases of terror outfits, including their cross-border sponsors. “Our zero-tolerance policy on terrorism remains firm. Operations will continue until every support system is neutralized and peace is restored,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Army and Border Security Force (BSF) continue to secure the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir, which stretch 740 km and 240 km respectively.
Security forces across the Union Territory are now focused on dismantling the entire infrastructure of terrorism, shifting from solely neutralizing armed militants to targeting the networks that enable them.
