Congress MLA gets Rs 10 cr threat call linked to Bishnoi gang

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 24: Maharashtra Congress MLA Sajid Khan Pathan has allegedly received a threatening phone call from a person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding Rs 10 crore and warning of dire consequences if the amount was not paid.

The caller identified himself as Shubham Lonkar and allegedly threatened Pathan that he would meet the same fate as NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in 2024. In the call, the caller reportedly said, “Pata hai na Baba Siddique ko uda diya tha, ab teri bari hai,” warning the MLA that it was now his turn.

According to the conversation accessed by media, the caller gave Pathan two days to arrange the money. Despite the MLA stating that he did not possess such a huge amount and suggesting that there may have been a case of mistaken identity, the caller allegedly continued to pressure him, invoking the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to intimidate him.

Shubham Lonkar is accused of being involved in multiple high-profile criminal cases. He has been linked to the killing of Baba Siddique, while his brother Praveen Lonkar allegedly provided logistical support. Lonkar is also accused in a firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence on January 31.

He was earlier questioned in connection with the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s house in 2024 but was later released. Authorities are expected to probe the latest threat call and take appropriate action.
