Rajasthan, Mar 9: A tragic road accident on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway claimed the life of Jaipur-based industrialist Vallabh Maheshwari (62), Managing Director of Shakun Group, after his luxury BMW car reportedly lost control and rammed into a culvert wall in Alwar district of Rajasthan.
Police said the accident occurred on Sunday evening in the Reni police station area when the car was travelling at high speed near channel number 136.8 on the expressway. The vehicle suddenly went out of control and crashed into the wall of a culvert along the plantation area beside the highway.

The impact was severe, leaving the front portion of the car completely mangled. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion-like sound at the time of the crash, which drew several people to the scene.
Maheshwari sustained critical injuries, while the driver suffered minor injuries. Passersby and rescue personnel worked for hours to pull the trapped occupants from the wreckage.
The injured were initially taken to a hospital in Pinan for first aid. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Maheshwari was later shifted to a private hospital in Alwar, where doctors declared him dead.
Police reached the accident site after receiving information and informed Maheshwari’s family members. Following formal procedures, the body was handed over to the family.
Officials from the expressway patrol team and ambulance services assisted in the rescue operation. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The news of Maheshwari’s death drew condolences from several leaders, including former Ashok Gehlot, who expressed grief on social media and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.
Tika Ram Jully, Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan, also mourned the industrialist’s sudden demise.
