Srinagar, Mar 9: Police in Shopian have attached a residential property following court orders after it was found to be purchased using proceeds from the drug trade.
A police statement confirmed that a double-storey house valued at ?55,21,189 under Khasra No. 243, belonging to Ghulam Mohammad Khanday of Zrakan Keller, was attached in connection with FIR No. 49/2025 at Keller Police Station. The attachment was carried out under the supervision of a police team, an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar, and Chowkidar, ensuring compliance with legal protocols.

Authorities stated that the property had been acquired through illegal narcotics sales. Police reiterated their commitment to curbing drug-related crimes and encouraged the public to provide information about trafficking or related activities.
Jammu and Kashmir Police have been actively targeting terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), sympathisers, and cross-border terror handlers, as well as drug smugglers and those involved in hawala networks, which are believed to fund terrorist operations in the region.
Security forces, including the Indian Army and the Border Security Force, maintain vigilance along the Line of Control and International Border to prevent infiltration, exfiltration, drug smuggling, and drone activities.
