Sullia: Missing Woman Found Murdered, Buried

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Mar 5: Muttamma (44), wife of Honnappa Gowda from Meladtale House in Arantodu village in the taluk, who had been missing since February 24, was found killed and buried.

Unknown abductors had buried her body among the cashew thicket behind Muttamma’s house. The body was thoroughly decomposed. The fact that Muttamma had been killed, came to be known only after the bloated abdomen of the body jutted out the ground.

Muttamma’s son, Jeevan, had filed a missing case about his mother after over a week since she disappeared, and all efforts to locate her failed. It is gathered that the missing complaint was filed on Saturday.

Honnappa Gowda, who suffered grave injuries after a fatal fall two years back from a tree, continues to be treated in a private hospital here. Jeevan works as a ward body in KVG Hospital here. Muttamma used to stay alone at home, and no one was around when she was kidnapped.

The local police, who have registered a case, said that they have definite clues relating to the murder. They have expressed confidence of nailing the culprit at the earliest.
