Jaipur, Mar 18: A devastating road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Balapura, Kota claimed the lives of three young men on Wednesday, leaving their vehicle completely wrecked and creating chaos at the scene.

The victims, identified as Siddhant (21), Kunal (25), and Mayureva (23), were residents of Pune. They were travelling in an SUV from Ladakh towards Mumbai when the vehicle lost control near Thumda, around five kilometres from Balapura.

Authorities reported that the car, moving at high speed, smashed through the divider and plunged nearly 30 feet, resulting in catastrophic damage. Bystanders rushed to the scene, pulling the victims from the wreckage, but all three had succumbed to their injuries.

Police, led by Manoj Sikarwar, SHO of Kaithoon Police Station, took custody of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations indicate that overspeeding and loss of control were likely causes of the accident. Families of the victims are being informed.

The trio had embarked on a Leh-Ladakh trip on February 26 as part of a 10-member group, with the remaining members following in separate vehicles. After the crash, locals transported the injured to the Kaithoon Community Health Centre, but Dr. Rajesh Samar confirmed they had died before reaching the facility.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are examining factors that contributed to the tragic crash.
